The Megger MIT1020 10kV insulation tester is designed specifically for the testing and maintenance of high voltage electrical equipment and is pre-programmed with IR, PI, DAR, SV and DD profiles. Rated as CAT IV 600 V it can be operated by either mains or battery supply and measures up to 35 TΩ. To further enhance testing flexibility the Megger MIT1020 incorporates the facility to set the test voltage in steps from 50 V to 5000V. It features a large easy to read LCD digital/analogue backlit display which displays resistance, voltage, leakage current, capacitance, battery status, time constant and the elapsed time of the test is constantly shown. The controls are clear and unambiguous and a quick start guide is included in the lid. 

Designed to meet the highest safety standards the instrument measures the voltage at the terminals and if this is above 50 V then the instrument will display the high voltage warning and inhibit testing. At the end of the test the tester will automatically discharge the energy transferred to the equipment during the test phase. RS232 and USB outputs are available for the downloading of results.

It is ideal for testing insulation resistance of rotaing machinery and cables, production line periodic testing and maintanence and the troubleshooting and analysis of insulation issues. PI, DD, DAR are calculated with automated resistance ranging with all data displayed with one single measurement. Fully programmable Step-Voltage and Withstanding Voltage test functions assist in diagnosing faults in insulation and a high 5 mA charging current quickly charges capacitive loads.

The large LCD screen allows real-time R(t) graphs to be displayed and results can be stored and downloaded to a computer via USB and RS232 connections. The high quality instrument, shielded test leads and selectable noise rejection filters (up to 5 mA) ensure accurate readings.
