Hipotronics 860PL-B 60kV DC Hipot Tester
The Hipotronics 860PL DC insulation tester is designed to be a fully instrumented, easy to use, high voltage proof tester. The unit features rugged construction, conservatively rated components and built in surge devices to help protect against damage from repeated short circuits at full output. The 860PL operates from an input of 120 volts ac, 50/60 Hz, 5 amps. Rated output current is 5 mA for 15 minutes. (Capacitor Charging Duty)
The Hipotronics 860PL-B DC hipot tester provides a solution to the DC field testing of cables, terminations, motors, generators and other electrical apparatus. The model is self contained in a single rugged and durable enclosure with cables conveniently stored inside the case. The Hipotronics 860PL-B tester produces accurate kV meter readings regardless of load current. Accurate voltage and current measurements are assured since voltage readings are taken directly at the output of the high voltage transformer and current measurements are taken in the return leg. The safe discharging of both the test object and the high voltage transformer occurs whenever the high voltage is turned off and output power is provided by means of a full-wave voltage doubling rectifier circuit with silicon rectifiers.
